Crown Forklift Hydraulic Problem

Hey everyone, my dad's company has been running into a frustrating issue with some new Crown forklifts, and we're hoping to get some advice.

Out of 30 new machines, three of them have a problem where the forks descend very quickly when the forklift is stopped with the forks up.
We think it's a hydraulic valve issue. We brought it up to the manufacturer and the dealer, but they told us two things, first, that a descent rate of up to 10mm per minute is within the legal limit

and second, that the problem is our fault for not purging the hydraulic system.
We've been in the business for years, and this just doesn't sound right to us, especially since it's only happening on a few of the new machines.

Has anyone heard of this 10mm per minute rule? And could a lack of purging really cause this issue? Any technical advice would be a huge help.

That doesn't sound right to me. I've never heard of a legal limit of 10 mm/min for fork descent, it's usually about safe operation, not an exact number. You should get a proper hydraulic inspection or ask the dealer to replace the valves under warranty
